Saahir: On Mike Figgis

In Mike Figgis book, Digital Filmmaking, he points out that as filmmakers, no matter how much our equipment cost, we should treat it as if it was very expensive. People tend to keep expensive things in good condition and they tend to care for it a lot. Figgis wants us to understand no matter how low your budget is, you can still make quality film. In his book he also tells us how everyone’s job behind the camera is essential. Having a location manager, sound man/woman, and lighting person helps build a quality film. Without them you will just have an amateur film, not that there is nothing wrong with amateur videos, but in this class we are looking for quality videos.

  1. Nicely summarized, and I hope we have been taking his advice seriously.
